review from exhale the vile:
With their debut album "Mankind", Factory 81 have delivered a listening experience that will change your perception of music and its meaning forever. At a time when nu-metal is becoming old and predictable, this young band have succeeded in recording an album full of tracks unlike any of those that have come before.
From the outset, Nate Wallace's talent as a vocalist is highlighted, as it takes on a variety of forms throughout the album. At one end of the scale, he's inflicting a subliminal fear in you with an eery, drawn out voice, somewhat reminiscant of Tool's Maynard James Keenan, but by no means a copy. At the other, his screams will rip through you and leave you wanting more.
The music is of equal quality to Nate's vocals, as each member plays with obvious passion and devotion. The result is a dynamic sound bleeding raw power and feeling, that'll send a shiver down your spine.
Its great to hear a band's music for the very first time and not instantly be reminded of another band. Factory 81 are a band who have great potential and the originality which will take them places. If you haven't heard any Factory 81 before, then I strongly suggest you check them out, you won't be disappointed...
