Peaceful with others, males can pester females if not kept in right number, 1 male to 4 females.
A shy, timid fish, it breeds easily if kept in the right conditions and is provided with plenty of shelter in the form of branches and lots of plants. Their nature makes them ideal to keep in a community tank. similar to the swordtail are the platty and molly, belonging to the same species.
