Horses

Lita

Arabian mare

Most Excellent Mare

Lita was my fun horse. We ran around the Saguaro Monument and had the best of times. We did a little jumping and a little dressage. We weren't good at anything; but we both had fun doing what little we could. Lita is no longer rideable, but her brain is just as quick and sassy as ever. I love her. I bought her three acres last year so she can run around whenever and wherever she wants. I call the place "Lita's Playground".

Nana

Hanoverian mare

Most Excellent Dressage Pony

I bought Nana on Lita's birthday last summer. Nana's owner had bought her from my daughter the year before. I started riding Na when Lita was pronounced unrideable. Na's owner never came out. Na was in bad shape. It took almost six months to get her in shape enough to start doing something. Then her owner announced she was selling Na. I was hysterical. There was something about this mare. We fought a lot; Na was so sad. The saddest mare I've ever been around. The vet said not to buy her, she had too many problems from the neglect. I bought her. I wouldn't have made it through the last year without her.

Juan Bandito

Thoroughbred gelding

Burro Boy

Juanie is my daughter's horse. He is a keeper. He carted her around when she knew nothing. Now she knows something and he doesn't want to relinquish his managerial position. They compete hunters amateur owner 3'6", but they are bored, so they've switched to jumpers.

Arion

Thorougbred mare

Babyhead

Ari is my daughter's five-year-old baby. She flies over a jump and says, "Whee! Look at me! Look what I did! I'm so CCUUUUTTTEEE!" And she is. She's an awesome mover. My daughter hopes to compete with Ari at jumpers 4'.
