Hi,
My name is William L. Genzel I was assigned to the 120th AHC in Jun 1972 until the end of the war on 28 March 1973. I was a SFC, 67W40. I was first assigned as the Shop Plt Sgt at Long Bhin and then when I moved to Siagon I became Chief Tech Inspector for the company. I was on one of the last Air Force aircraft to leave on the 28th. When they transferred the 120th to Alaska, we became I believe the 98th or some such bogus outfit and then eventually we were transferred to Command Airplane Company. The job, at least mine stayed the same, I just had all civilians working on the aircraft. There was 1 1stLt, 1 WO3, myself and a few SP5's in the maintenance portion of the company ate the end. We all flew home together to the States on the 28th. From the time that the majority of the aircrews went home or were transferred to duty with the Four Powers, the only real guys left in the flight platoons were the guys at the embassy. Once we had transferred all of the aircraft on paper to the VNAF, most of the aircrews went home. We stayed to support the CHORDS and embassy flights and maintained the 100 or so aircraft that were move in to Hotel 3 to support the Four Powers and the Peace Keepers. Hopefully some of the guys from that era are still around. I was stationed with SFC King one of the Flt Plt Sgt in Ft Hood after I came home, but lost track of him. Hope to be able to make the reunion this year. Out of over 20 years in the Army, the Deans was the only flying company that I had the pleasure to serve with and I considered it quite and honor for an old maintenance guy. I currently live in Ft Worth, TX and my email address is genzelw@hotmail.com.
Hope to see you guys soon,
Bill
