During the Flagstaff Labor-Day Climbing Club trip, Sonja went bouldering with Claire, Mike, Bill, and a few others at Kelly Canyon. Instead of climbing the rocks like she was supposed to, she fell off and drove her talus into her tibia and fibula, breaking both. After 3 1/2 months, she's finally off of crutches, and able to sort of walk normally again.
Right after the fall.. fuzzy picture reflects the chaos of the times...
She got out of the canyon thanks to Mike and James, who exclaimed, "Damn, Sonja! You're lighter than you look!" as they picked her up.
Looking as melodramatic as possible for dear Mother..
