Desert View senior Stephanie Celaya-Serventi is accomplished in tennis and horseback riding.

The Star caught up with her to ask about her favorite tennis star, her place on the team and her future.

"I've been around tennis for quite a while. My older sisters were very involved in the sport. I first started playing organized tennis my freshman year."

•••

"I practice really hard during the season, and during the off-season, I like to go out and hit the ball around some."

•••

"I enjoy watching men's tennis more than women's tennis. Some of that has to do with the fact that a lot of people say I play like a guy. I take that as a compliment, because my favorite player is Rafael Nadal."

•••

"I don't see myself playing tennis in college. I will always love the game and stay very involved, though."

•••

"I find the sport itself very rewarding. I enjoy teaching the younger girls on the team about it and watching them get better."

•••

"Horse riding is another passion in my life. I've been around it pretty much my whole life. I started riding officially when I was 7. I like going out and riding with other girls from the community."

•••

"Education is another big part of my life. Next semester, I'm going to the University of Arizona. I plan on majoring in architecture. I would like to become a commercial or residential architect."
