Sam
His full name is Samwise Gamgee. He is the faithful servant of Frodo. Before they set of on their quest he was Frodo's gardener. During their quest he remained faithful and steadfast. He never really trusted Gollum, which was what saved both of them in Shelbo's lair. After he defeated the giant spider he believed that Frodo was dead and he took the Ring to finish the quest. Later though, he found that Frodo was still alive he went back and rescued him from a ban of orcs. When he and Frodo finally made it to Mount Doom, Frodo's resistance failed, Sam's though didn't. He still tried to convince Frodo to throw the Ring into the fire. When Gollum turned up and started to struggle with Frodo for the Ring all he could do is look on in helplessness. When Gollum fell into the fire with the Ring Sam carried Frodo out of the mountain and down it, but finally collapsed in exhaustion on the side of the mountain where the eagles found them and carried them to the Healing houses in Gondor. During the retaking of the Shire he fought bravely. When Frodo left for over the sea, he left Bag End to Sam and his wife Rosie. When he was old and his wife was dead and his children where all grown up, he moved over the sea. It was his privilege because he was a Ring Bearer for a time.
