Frodo
He is the cousin and the heir to Bilbo Baggins. After his parents died Bilbo took him in. He was the Ring Bearer. During his quest to destroy the Ring he met Farimir. Because Farimir didn't fall into the power of the Ring he helped the three (Frodo Sam and Gollum) continue on their journey to destroy the Ring. Frodo had Gollum/Smegol act as a guide to them to get them into Mordor. He thought that if he was nice and kind to Gollum then Gollum could come back, therefore giving him hope in himself. Unfortunately that hope was misplaced. Gollum betrayed them to Shelob, the giant spider. Frodo managed to survive and he and Sam continued on their journey without him. After the encounter with Shelob they traveled to Mount Doom. When they finally reached the pit and were about to cast the Ring into the fires, Frodo's courage failed him and he claimed the Ring for his own and put it on. Gollum came out of nowhere and bit off the ring finger of Frodo and then tripped and fell into the fire of Mount Doom, destroying both himself and the Ring. Frodo and Sam made there way out of the pit and lay down to die on the path to the pit. Thankfully though the giant eagles found them and saved them and brought them to the Healing Houses of Gondor. After the Retaking of the Shire Frodo shared his house with Sam. When he left for Valinor he left Bag End to Sam, his most trusted and loyal friend.
