The Dance

by Dancer

Two souls, seeking something,

Not sure what they may find,

Just knowing that a piece is missing,

From their heart, their soul, and mind.

Knowing life is happy,

But not how it could be,

They sometimes have feelings of guilt for

Wishing to be truly free.

So, they walk through this life,

knowing it's not complete,

With a vague sense of unfulfillment,

That's apparent to all they meet.

The music softly playing,

A beat felt in their souls,

The need each has cannot be denied.

They're each just part of a whole.

The dance floor seems endless,

Stretched forever in time,

Until their eyes meet in communion,

And Fate decides to be kind.

And they dance,

With their souls in their eyes,

Yes, they dance,

And their hearts can't disguise,

Their true nature and soul,

The two parts of the whole,

As they dance.

He allows

Her to see what he feels

And she smiles

For she knows this is real

And her life is complete,

No more fear and defeat

And they dance.......

In the dance,

He leads gently and true.

She submits.

It is all she can do.

Giving all that she has

she's contented at last

with this dance.
