Where did the name "DMC-12" come from? What did the "12" represent? This is a question that a lot of DeLorean enthusiasts are still unsure of. "DMC-12" stood for "DeLorean Motor Company-12 (thousand dollars). Originally, the car was supposed to sell for 12,000 dollars - That was before the British Pound went from 1.40 to 2.40. Eventually, and contrary to what most people think, the car was priced at around 25,650 dollars - not 80,000 dollars. |
