(Nasdaq: BATS), a manufacturer and distributor of wireless accessory products sold to dealers, distributors, and network airtime carriers throughout the USA and Canada, announced plans to change their corporate name to Wireless Accessories Group (Nasdaq: WIRX). The name change is only one step in the company's strategy to establish itself as the dominant provider of accessories for wireless phones in the USA.

This new name for the company reflects the fact that wireless phone, pager and two-way radio accessories comprise 100% of the company's business. Explained President and CEO Steve Rade, "Wireless Accessories Group is a more appropriate name to describe our current business and the areas we intend to pursue for future growth. The accessory segment of the wireless industry has always been far more profitable than any other area of our product mix and the wireless division has been growing at an approximate compound rate of 25% since our IPO in 1996."

In the coming weeks, a new corporate logo will be introduced, and its corporate Internet address will be changed to www.WirelessAccessoriesGroup.com. The company's ticker symbol on the Nasdaq national market has been changed to WIRX effective March 20, 2000.

The name change will not require current shareholders to exchange their existing stock certificates for certificates bearing the new name.

The Wireless Accessories Group is comprised of four divisions, which distribute products to more than 6,000 dealers and distributors operating from over 12,000 locations in the USA and Canada.
