Mick Foley will forever be remembered as one of the most daring sports entertainers of the modern era. His
fall from the top of the Hell in the Cell cage at King of the Ring 1998 will be remembered as the most
spectacular bump in wrestling history. This is the story behind wrestling's super bump of the decade.
Wrestler's hardly ever have time to practice a match before it happens. Road schedules simply wont allow it.
Before shows wrestler's will sit and discuss between themselves what they want to do in their respective
matches. It is not a common practice to share with others what an individual is preparing to do. Nobody wants
a spot stolen or someone else trying to upstage their match. The WWF wrestler's usually arrive VERY early for
TV tapings and PPV events. Mick and the Undertaker were sitting off in a corner going over general ideas for
their upcoming Hell in the Cell match. Now Mick has long been known to step things up a notch for big events.
This one was no different. When Undertaker heard Mick out on his idea to go off the cage he was in shock....
Now Mark Calloway is not the loudest person in the lockerroom. He's usually very reserved and quiet. You
never could tell that this time... He stood up and in the loudest booming voice I've heard in a while said, "You
wanna do WHAT?!?!?!" Mick wasnt done. He went on to talk about bringing in thumb tacks..... Undertaker got
quite religious if you know what I mean. He spent the better part of the afternoon trying to talk Mick out of
his idea... Guys have to clear ahead of time if they want to go through one of the tables for equipment damage
reasons.... Mick was given the go ahead to go through the table... No one but Mick and 'Taker knew howevere
he was gonna do it from the top of the cage..........
When it was all said and done and I'll never forget the exchange in the back between 'Taker and Mick...
'Taker had just one sentence for Mick before he was tended to himself....
