B. THE PROBLEM OF Revelation 20:1-6.
1. 1000 years not necessarily literal.
a. Book filled with symbolism, ie. "harlot" "dragon" "abyss" "key" see 19:11-21.
b. Would Jesus fight from horseback, spit swords, or have a tattoo?
c. 20:1-3.
2. They reigned. Who? Martyrs( vs. 4 ) and the faithful.
a. Sat upon thrones - apostles( Matt. 19:28 ).
b. During regeneration( John 3:3-5 ).New beginning or birth( Rom. 6:4 ).
c. How do they reign?
- through their word( Matt. 16:19; 18:18; Luke 10:16 ).
- through their example( 1 Cor. 16:1-2; John 3:19-21 ). A higher standard.
3. This is the first resurrection ( vs. 5 ).
a. What is this? ( Eph. 2:1; Rom. 6:4 ).
b. Death has NO power ( Heb. 2:14-15; 1 Cor. 15:55-57 ).
- Neither the 2nd death( vs 6; vs. 14 ).
- Who is going to hell?( 2 Thess. 1:7-9; Heb. 5:8-9 ).
4. Priests of God( 1 Pet. 2:5, 9;Rom. 12:1 Rev. 1:5-6 ).

active indicative,the tense that indicates present continuous action
"they reign" is the proper direct translation.
5. Reign with him?( Eph. 2:4-7; Matt. 5:5 ).
