599 BC – During Jehoiachin’s reign.  Also known as Jeconiah and Coniah.

QUESTIONS FOR CHAPTER 23:

1.       On who is a woe pronounced, and for what? (vs. 1-2)

2.       What will God do for the remnant of his flock? (vs. 3-4)

3.       Who will God raise up, and what will be the result in Judah? (vs. 5-6)

4.       What will the people no longer say – what will they say? (vs. 7-8).

5.       What was Jeremiah’s mental state, and who brought this on? (vs. 9)

6.       What did Jeremiah see that caused him to be thus? (vs. 10-12) What will God do about it?

7.       What did God see in the prophets of Samaria, and who was like them? (vs. 13-14)

8.       How did God regard them, and what would he do about it? (vs. 14-15)

9.       What was the message of the false prophet? (vs. 16-17) What were the people to do?

10.     What will be the result of God bringing about his judgments? (vs. 19-20)

11.     If God had sent these prophets, what would they cause the people to do? (vs. 21-22)

12.     Can any hide himself ... so that God will not see him?  What does God fill? (vs. 23-24)

17.     What is God’s response to those who would ask what is his burden? (vs. 33)

18.     Why is a man’s own word his burden? (vs. 36)

19.     What if a prophet claims his message is the burden of Jehovah when it is not? (vs. 38-39)
