I.    JOSIAH 641-610  8 years old for 31 years.

       628 BC- Jeremiah is called

       626 BC- Ashurbanipal of Assyria dies – Nebopolassar rises in Babylon 626 BC

       623 BC – Josiah’s reform begins

               Repair of the temple

               Hilkiah finds the book of the law.

               Huldah the prophetess prophecies Judah’s destruction and Josiah’s death.

               Reform includes defiling Topheth and Jereboam’s altars.

               The ark is restored to the temple – Passover is kept.

       610 BC – Egypt goes to war with Assyria.

               Josiah is warned by Neco (2 Chron. 35:20ff;  Jer. 46:2ff).

               Josiah is slain at Meggido.

Chapters 1-6, possibly others up through chapter 20.

II.   JEHOAHAZ. 610  23 Years old for 3 months.  (Shallum)

       610 or 609 – In place of Josiah by the people (2 Kings 23:31-34;  2 Chron. 36:1-4).

       610 or 609 – Renamed by Pharoah and carried off to Egypt where he dies a stranger.

III.  JEHOIAKIM.  610-599.  25 Years old for 11 years.  (Eliakim)

       610 BC – Appointed and renamed by Neco.

               Jeremiah arrested and acquitted (Jer. 26).

               TAXES for Egypt

       607 BC – Rechabites and the Roll burned (Jer. 35-36)

               70 years of captivity foretold (Jer. 25)

               Word for Baruch and Judgment of Pharoah (Jer. 45:146:12).

       605 BC – Babylon defeats Egypt at Carchemesh.

               Jerusalem besieged.

               Jeremiah’s first imprisonment.  Potter and clay (Jer. 18-20).

               First captives to Babylon, including Daniel.

       603 BC – Daniel interprets Nebuchadnezzar’s dream (Dan. 2)

       602-601 The prophecies of Jeremiah 13-17

               The linen girdle, famine, and captivity.

               Egypt defeats Babylon at MigdolJehoiakim sides with Egypt..

       600?.  Against the nations (Jer. 7-12, 47-49)

       599 – Nebuchadnezzar besieges Jerusalem again.

               Prepares Jehoikim for removal, but he dies (Jer. 22:18-19;  36:27-32).

IV. JEHOIACHIN.  599.  18 Years old for 3 months, 10 days.

Also called Jeconiah and Coniah.

       599 BC – Received Jeremiah’s prophecy of the unfaithful shepherds (Jer. 22-23)

               Surrendered to Nebuchadnezzar and is carried to Babylon.

               Ezekial and others removed from Judah.

               Vessels removed from the temple.

               Jehoiachin still recognized by the people as king.

V.  ZEDEKIAH..  599-588.  21 Years old for 11 years. (Mattaniah)

       599 BC – Letters from Jeremiah to the captives (ch. 29, 24).

               Oath of loyalty to Nebuchadnezzar (2 Chron. 36:13;  Ez. 17:11-21).

       598 BC – Return prophesied. (ch. 30-31)

       595 BC – Hananiah and controversy over the length of captivity (Jer. 27, 28)

               Plot of rebellion (Jer. 27:1-3).

               Zedekiah called to Babylon (Jer. 51:59)

               Doom of Babylon (Jer. 50-51).

       591 BC – Violated covenant (Jer. 34)

       590 BC – Christ, the Branch (Jer. 33)

       589 BC – Zedekiah’s inquiring (Jer. 21)

               Jeremiah’a 2nd imprisonment and interview with Zedekiah (Jer. 37-38)

               Buying the field (Jer. 32)

               Zedekiah’s rebellion and Nebuchadnezzar’s response (2 Kings 25).

               The siege lasted over a year.

       588 BC – Fall of Jerusalem (Jer. 39;  2 Kings 25)

               The death of Zedekiah’s sons and he is blinded (Jer. 39:4-8;  52:1-11)

               Destruction of Jerusalem.

               Nebuchadnezzar’s kind treatment of Jeremiah (Jer. 39:11ff).
