ACTS TEN SUMMARY

I.        CORNELIUS IS INTRODUCED( vs. 1-8 ).

A,        THE GOODNESS OF CORNELIUS( vs. 2 ).

B.         HE IS TOLD BY AN ANGEL TO SEND TO JOPPA FOR PETER.

C.        HE WAS NOT YET SAVED.

II.       THE VISION OF PETER( vs. 9-16 ).

A.        PETER WAS ON THE ROOFTOP.

B.         THE SHEET WITH ALL KINDS OF ANIMALS, ESPECIALLY THE

            "UNCLEAN."   HE IS TOLD TO KILL AND EAT.

C.        THE MESSAGE TO PETER WAS THAT GOD ACCEPTS BOTH JEW AND

            GENTILE.  IT IS NOT OURS TO DENY ANYONE THE GOSPEL.

III.      PETER GOES WITH THE MEN TO JERUSALEM( vs. 17-23 ).

IV.     PETER AT THE HOUSE OF CORNELIUS( vs. 24-48 ).

A.        CORNELIUS WAS SO CONCERNED FOR HIS BRETHREN THAT HE CALLED

            THEM ALL TOGETHER.

B.         HE IS REBUKED BY PETER FOR WORSHIPPING HIM( vs. 25-26 ).

C.        PETER SEES THE MEANING OF THE VISION( vs. 28-29 ).

D.        CORNELIUS EXPLAINS WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM.

E.         PETER'S DISCOURSE:

            1.         God is no respecter of persons...the righteous are acceptable in all nations.

            2.         Jesus was sent by God to preach good tidings which he did beginning with

                                    John's baptism.

            3.         He was anointed with the Holy Spirit and continued doing good.

            4.         The apostles were witnesses of these things.

            5.         He was killed by the Jews but raised up by God, whereof we are witnesses.

            6.         He then sent us out to preach.

            7.         Those who believe on him will receive the remission of sins.

F.         CORNELIUS AND HIS HOUSE RECEIVE THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY

            SPIRIT( vs. 44-48 ).

            1.         They speak with other tongues and the Jews are amazed.

            2.         Peter commands them to be baptized.
