I.        THE DAILY MINISTRATION TO GRECIAN WIDOWS( vs. 1-6 ).

A.        PEOPLE INVOLVED:  Grecian widows and their families, the apostles, Stephen,

            Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parminas, Nicolaus.

B.         EVENTS:

            1.         The complaint of the Grecian Jews.

            2.         The apostles' complaint( vs. 2 ).

            3.         Selection of "deacons."( 1 Tim. 3:8-13 )

                        a.         Of good report.

                        b.         Full of the Spirit and wisdom.

            4.         Selection process.

                        a.         The apostles gave qualifications.  They taught on it.

                        b.         "Look ye out from among you."  The disciples found men who qualified.

                        c.         They were presented to the apostles.

                        d.         Apostles did the appointing( vs. 6 ).  Titus & Timothy entrusted with this

                                    responsibility later.  They were evangelists( 1 Tim. 3;  And Titus 1:5 ).

II.       THE CONVERSION OF THE PRIESTS( vs. 7 ).

III.      THE ARREST OF STEPHEN( vs. 8-15 ).

A.        PEOPLE INVOLVED:  Stephen, Different sects of the Jews, the council.

B.         THINGS TO REMEMBER:

            1.         Stephen endorsed by God( vs. 8 ).

            2.         Stephen disputes with different sects of the Jews.

            3.         False witnesses and their accusations( vs. 11-15 ).

            4.         His appearance to those who sat in council.

            5.         The high priest demands an answer( 7:1 ).
