Backstreet Boys Sell Out Tour
Backstreet Boys Sell Out Tour

The Backstreet Boys sold out a total of 53 dates on Saturday (Aug. 14), selling over 765,000 tickets in a single day, and generating almost $30 million.

As soon as the initial 40 dates sold out, an additional 13 performances were added to the itinerary, tickets for which were also snatched up. The impressive sales are certainly reflective of the strong sales of the Boys' Millennium, which has sold more than 4.6 million copies in the United States since its release in May, and which sold 1,133,505 in its first week of release, breaking Garth Brooks' record for the most albums sold in a single week of sales.

The tour kicks off at the National Rental Car Arena in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., on Sept. 14, and is slated to run for 11 weeks, touching down in 39 cities across North America, before wrapping up back in Tampa, Fla., at the Ice Palace on Dec. 2.
