Just Friends: Chapter 7

Just Friends: Chapter 7

***Mandy’s Point of View***

“Mandy, there’s something I’ve been meaning to tell you.”, Nick said to me.

“Go ahead Nick.”, I said.

“I love you.”

“I love you too Nick. Lately I’ve had feelings so strong for you, and I didn’t know how to tell you. I’m so glad you know now.”

Then Nick leaned in and we kissed, it was the most passionate kiss...

“Hey, Mandy, wake up!”, I heard Nick say.

“Huh?”, I said, what had just happened?

“It’s time to eat!”, Nick said while a big grin appearing on his face, “I am so hungry!”

“Oh, yeah, sorry!”, I said, it must have all been a dream. If only that would happen I thought as I ate my food. I saw a notebook with Nick’s name on it in the magazine rack at his seat. As I picked it up I saw Nick get a worried look on his face.

“Nicky, what’s this?”, I asked, it had to be something important for him to look so worried.

“Oh nothing, just possible song ideas, you know, things like that.”, he said while grabbing it and shoving it in his bag.

“Oh, I see.”, I said, I could tell he was lying. If that was all it was he wouldn’t be so uptight about it. I finished my food, and Nick went to sleep. I really wanted to look in his notebook, but I decided not to. To keep me from reading it, I turned around to talk to AJ and Kevin.

“Hey guy’s! What’s up?”, I said to AJ and Kevin who were looking pretty bored.

“Hey Mandy! Whatcha up to?”, AJ asked.

“Nothing, Nick decided to go to sleep, and now I’m bored!”, I said making a sad face.

“You poor deprived child!”, Kevin said with sarcasm and sounding serious.

“Geez, sorry, what’s wrong with you Kevin?”, I asked, wondering what was his problem.

“Nothing, I’m just sick of this you and Nick thing. You say you’re only friends, but you guys flirt like crazy. Why don’t you just go out, it’s so pathetic! And that whole Jake thing, that was even more pathetic, Nick running off to you, that was so irresponsible. And it’s like you and him can never be seperarted, why don’t you just live together?”, Kevin said while looking out the window.

“Oh, okay, well, um..yeah...”, I said while turning around and sitting back in my seat.

“God Kevin, what’s stuck up your ass? You had no right to talk to her like that.”, I heard AJ say to him.

Maybe Kevin was right. Maybe me and Nick are pathetic, but I liked it like this. Look at all the problem’s we go through now, imagine how bad it would be if we went out. Maybe it would be better. I can’t keep worrying about this. I had to talk to Brian, I nudged Howie, and me and him switched seats. I told Brian what happened, and I was beginning to cry, but not too hard, I didn’t want Nick to hear and wake-up.

“Come here Mandy.”, Brian said as he wrapped me in his arms, “You shouldn’t get yourself all worked up over this. You’re only 18, you have practically your whole life ahead of you to find the right one for you. And if Nick is that person, then it will happen.”

“I guess you’re right, but why was Kevin being like that?”, I asked, my tears beginning to stop. Brian was such a good big brother, I loved him so much.

“Him and his girlfriend are having problems, and she thought that it would be best for them to take a break for the tour, so they can both think about the relationship a little. He’s probably on his way to apologize," Brian said as Kevin walked up.

“Hey Mandy, I’m really sorry about before, I’m just upset about my girlfriend, Casey. I didn’t mean to be like that to you. You and Nick aren’t pathetic at all, I just wish I had someone like that in my life.”, Kevin said.

“It’s okay, you’re forgiven. Everyone has their bad moments," I said as I hugged Kevin and he walked back to his seat.

“See I told you!”, Brian said with a smug look on his face.

“I love you Brian.”, I said looking him in the eyes, I really meant it, and I wanted him to know.

“I know you do, I love you too.”

“No, but I really do. I don’t know what I would do without you. When you went in for surgery the only time I left my room was to visit you. The rest of the time I just sat in my room and cried. No matter what anyone said I couldn’t stop. Nick helped a little, but not that much. I just wanted you to know how much I love you Brian.”, I said, remembering all the times I spent in my room, that’s when me and Nick got really close.

“Aw, Mandy, I feel the same about you. I’m sure I’d do the same thing if that happened to you. Come here, you’ve had a rough day, go to sleep.”, Brian said as I laid down on his lap and went to sleep.

When I woke up, I saw Nick staring at me through the seat. We were the only two awake. I sat up and stretched, and turned around to face him.

“Hey buddy, what’s up?”, I asked still a little groggy.

“Nothing, are you ok? You seem like you were crying.”, Nick asked staring into my eyes, it sent chills up and down my spine.

“Yeah, I’m fine now, me and Brian were just talking about his surgery and everything.”, I wasn’t exactly lying, I cried about that too.

“Oh yeah, well, we hopefully won’t have to go through that again.”, he said while glancing over at Brian.

“Yeah, we better not.”, I said, I could tell an awkward silence was coming on.

“So...”, Nick said looking around, he immediately started laughing, I turned around to see what he was looking at, and I cracked up too. AJ was sucking his thumb, and practically holding on to Kevin. I guess we were laughing pretty loud because the second we started laughing everyone who was sleeping woke up. Immediately, to avoid people yelling at us, me and Nick sat back down in our seats, and pretended to be sleeping. I giggled to myself as I heard Kevin scream at AJ to get off of him. I pretended to just be waking up, I turned around and looked at Nick as we smiled at each other, but then it was time to land. We were finally there.

***Nick’s Point of View***

“Welcome to San Diego!”, I said as we stepped off the plane.

“Come on, we gotta get our luggage, since Mandy has so many bags...”, Brian said while looking over at Mandy.

“Yeah, well...”, Mandy said while grabbing my hand, “That was such a long flight, I’ve got some major jet lag. Are we going to the hotel first, or the tour bus?”

“Um...I think the hotel, because we’re here a couple of days, the dancer’s and band aren’t even coming until tomorrow morning.”, I said as we got to the baggage claim, I grabbed Mandy’s bag’s, and my own knowing there was no way she could carry them.

“Thank you much!”, Mandy said while walking over to AJ, “So AJ, I hear you have a thing for Kevin, and sucking your thumb...”

“Okay, that’s it Mandy!!”, AJ said as he threw her over his shoulder, “I’m not as nice as Nick, so you better be careful!”

Were they flirting? Do they have a thing for each other or something? No, that’s impossible, AJ’s too experienced for her and she would have said something to me. They’re probably just friends, that’s the way me and her act towards each other, and we were just friends...Mandy’s scream’s interupted me, as a force of habit I ran over to her and rescued her from AJ.

“Thank you Nickers!”, Mandy said while re-doing her hair, “I thought for sure you would have saved me earlier from this thing!”, Mandy said while pointing at AJ, who had already stepped into the limo. I helped Mandy in and we were off to the hotel.

At the Hotel: “So me and Brian are together, Mandy and Kevin have their own rooms, and Howie and AJ are together, right?”, I asked everyone. We had just gotten to the hotel, and we’re deciding who got which rooms.

“Yeah, that’s fine, who want’s joining rooms?”, Kevin asked as he sorted through the key’s.

“Me and Nick and Brian!”, Mandy said as she grabbed one of the keys to the joining room, and ran to the elevator.

“Well, I guess that answers that...”, I said as I ran after Mandy, followed by Brain, “We’ve gotta get her bad on this tour!”, I said to Brian. Me and Brian always played jokes on Mandy, but we had to get her bad this time.

“Oh yeah, but what should we do?”, Brian asked as we waited for the next elevator, we had missed the past one.

“I dunno, we’ve got a while though, we’ve gotta make it good!”, I said as the elevator came, we walked in, and then screams errupted.

“OH MY GOD, IT’S NICK AND BRIAN!!!!”, some girl screamed, there were three other girls in there with her.

"Hey girls! You want autographs?”, Brian asked, while grabbing a poster from one girl, and signing it.

“So are you girls going to the concert tomorrow?”, I asked them as I signed one their CD’s.

“Yeah, I can’t wait, it’s going to be so awesome!”, the girl who screamed said.

“Well, maybe we’ll see you there!”, I said as we got off at our floor, we walked to our room, and went in.

Mandy already had the door that joined them opened and I could see her sorting through clothes.

“Hey Mandy! What’s up?”, Brian asked as he pulled out his Nintendo 64, and hooked it up, “Ya wanna play with me and Nick?”

“Yeah, sure!” she said as walked over, grabbed a controller and sat down. We started playing, and as usual I won. We played a few more games and then decided to call the rest of the guys and see what we were gonna do for dinner. We decided on an Italian restaurant we saw on the way here. It was pretty good, and then we went back to the hotel.

“See ya tomorrow guys! Get a good sleep we have to wake up early, I ordred wake-up call’s for us already, 6:30, we’re all gonna meet in the lobby and then head over to the venue and warm up our voices until the dancers and band get here around 9 o’clock. Then the rest of the day we’ll do mostly run-through’s. Mandy, you can hang around here, or come with us, whatever you want.”, Kevin said as we rode in the elevator to our floors.

“Okay good-night guys!”, Mandy said as she walked to our room.

“See ya later!”, me and Brian said, following Mandy to our room.

I went to bed right away, because I knew I was going to be tired in the morning. I couldn’t wait for the tour to get started, I knew it was going to be great.
