3/30/01: In Thursday's Rep I see where One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, with Ron Hunting and Brian Hurley (two guys I worked with in You Can't Take it With You) opens this Friday at Theatre Works. I think Ron and Brian had an inside line on this play, because their day jobs are at the United States Postal Service . . . (Calm down guys! My wonderful mother-in-law was a Postmaster for decades.) 3/26/01: Recovering from last night's Oscar party, your Mr.Wonderful has discovered, once again, that his finely tuned body can no longer tolerate, even over an entire evening, more than a couple of flutes of bubbly. Since I despise letting fine champagne go to waste, thank God, Herman didn't pop the Jeroboam of Perrier-Jouet! So in our little contest, without seeing any of the movies, I picked seven winners out of our twelve chosen categories. However, the Mrs. came home the winner by delivering an astonishing .750 batting average. Of course, she did see two of the nominated films . . . I'm so glad that the night was free of politicking, it seems the winners were so overcome by the excitement of receiving their trophy and the strict time limits that self interest won out.

Julia Roberts. Predicted 'Best Actress' winner and possible whiner? 3/25/01: So, with Oscar's today, who does Master Thespian think will win? It's really tough for me to honestly predict, because I have not seen nary a one of the movies. (However, I was asked to audition for the stage play Quills, here in Phoenix, Arizona.) You see, I was busy working on my own smoldering stage career and besides, having actually been in 'the movies', my 'willing acceptance of the imaginary' has been rejected. I have been reduced to counting the number of edits per minute. My only hopes are that ONE: The winners act like winners and stick to the 45 second acceptance blurb (which for many of today's actors is as long as they can speak without exposing their benightedness of the world beyond the sound stage and Hollywood Hills.) And TWO: That none of them make any political pronouncements (see ONE above) placing them on my 'shit-list' of actors who I will never again pay to see perform.

3/22/01: Due to economic considerations, I had to remove Thursday's comment. However, for your enjoyment and my own, I have left Angelina's photo... Angelina Jolie and friends
3/18/01: What does your favorite celebrity look like after one, two or twelve beers?

Scottsdale city limit sign 64th Street & Shea Boulevard 3/15/01: A movie is being made starring Greg Kinnear playing Hogan Hero's lead Bob Crane. As us natives recall, Crane perished in a mystery murder committed in a Scottsdale Apartment in 1978.
