John Oliver and Nancy Elizabeth Snow Miller ~

Snow


The parents of the Snow children were Nicholas and Rachel Shirley Snow of Armstrong
County, Pennsylvania. This photo was taken when Nancy went back to Pennsylvania
to help settle legal issues after the parents died. We know Nancy is the center person
in the bottom row. We do not know which sibling is which in the photo; but here
are their names from oldest to youngest. Nancy Elizabeth (Miller), Susan J. (single?),
Mary C. (George B. Weaver), Rachel (William H. Shakley), Martha (single?),
Matthew Banks (Ella Jackson/Mary Miller), Annie W. (Maggie? Single?),
George W, (Margaret McKelvey) & Joseph (died young).


Children, & Grandchildren of John Oliver and Nancy Elizabeth Snow MILLER:


William George Miller~
There is not a known photo of William G. Miller.
William married Ester Jane Connley. The photo below is their oldest child,
Melvin George Miller. This is the only known photo of this line.
Melvin had eight other brothers and sisters. Their names are: Lottie (Wright),
Elvira (Butterfield), Sadie (Gerst), Joseph (lived for 2 years), Dorothy (Walker),
William (single?), Robert (single?) & August (died in teens). This family
lived in Petaluma, California William was the oldest son of John & Nancy Snow Miller and
the father of nine children.

Melvin George Miller~
This is the only known photo of William & Ester Miller line.
Melvin and Mildred Miller on their 64th wedding anniversary in 1981.
Photo taken in Chico, California. Melvin and Mildred had two children.


Rudolph Miller~
Rudolph was the second child of John Oliver and Nancy Snow MILLER.
Rudolph married Annie Elizabeth Garbett in Goshen, Utah.
Both Rudolph and Annie Miller died before they would see their seven children as adults.
The names of the children from oldest to youngest: Lawrence Lewis (single?),
Harry (single?), Charles (Schwab), John (died in infancy),
Rudolph (died in childhood), & Alice (died in infancy). These children were
raised by the Garbett family in Utah. The photo below is of Annie Garbett.
There is also a photo of one of their children; Charles Perission Miller
and his wife Ida in 1960. Charlie and Ida came to
Carlin, Nevada to visit cousins, Jim Nethery and Eva Perry.

John Lawrence Miller~
John was third child of John and Nancy Snow MILLER.
John first married Annie Jutten. John & Annie had three children;
George, Lawrence & James. Annie died when the children were very young.
Later, John married Nancy Mae Underwood. This couple had five children.
The photo above is just part of this family.

Harry Nickolas Millerr~
Harry was fourth child of John and Nancy Snow MILLER.
Harry married Katie May Edwards. This couple had one child, Alice.
The marriage ended in divorce. The photo above is of Harry and daughter Alice.
This photo was contributed by cousin Betty Follman.
Alice married Sherman Clyde Seibert, this couple had three children.


James H. Miller~
James was fifth child of John and Nancy Snow MILLER.
James married first to Ann Pierce. This couple had one child, Verdy.
Ann died and James married Maude Faulkner. This couple had one child,
and Maude died. The child's name was Iva Mae.
Iva died when she was a teenager. James then married Catherine Agnes McCarrick.
This couple have twelve children. The first photo above is of James and Catherine Miller.
The next photo is of most of their children. Photo Information:

Henrietta Miller~
Henrietta was sixth child of John and Nancy Snow MILLER.
She died when she was 3 years old. Henrietta is buried in Butler County, Pennsylvania.
The family left Pennsylvania in 1882 for Colorado. This was after Henrietta died.
There is not a known photo of Henrietta.


Rose Ann Miller~
Rose was seventh child of John and Nancy Snow MILLER.
Rose married Samuel Flohr in 1894 in Montrose, Colorado.
To this union, three children were born; Ethel, Virginia and Alvis.
This marriage ended in divorce. Rose left Colorado for Oregon.
She died and is buried there.


Susie Anna Miller~
Susie was the eighth child of John and Nancy Snow MILLER.
Susie married Russel Nethery. This couple had two children, James L. and Eva L.
Susie was beloved great grandmother of Maureen Brook.
In her obituary in 1955 it says of Susie Nethery:
"Russel and Susie Nethery came to Carlin, Nevada in 1925 where she had resided ever since.
She was a member of Carlin Rebekah Lodge and the Elko Order of Eastern Star".



Sanford Louis Miller~
Sanford was the ninth child of John and Nancy Snow MILLER.
There is not a known photo of Sanford Louis Miller.
Sanford married Caroline "Carrie" Grace Kansgen.
The couple did not have children. Nothing more is known about Sanford
However, about Carrie from cousin Wanda Miller: " Carrie died in the
Schwarz Nursing Home in Delta, Colorado.
Carrie and her siblings were well known as teachers and educators.
They taught in schools and at Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado.



Joseph Miller~
Joseph was the tenth and last child of John and Nancy Snow MILLER,
There is not a known photo of Joseph Miller.
Joseph died at five years old and is buried in Cimerron, Colorado.
