"LOVE LETTERS"
is a collaboration bewteen Phil Dynan
and Ana Nelson. They worked together on almost every aspect, except that
Ana did the "cutting", which is to say that she handcut this image
out of film in order to make a silk-screen stencil. Phil then did the actual
silk-screening.
This picture, named "felix" (after the white cat) has a lot
of interesting little details. Perhaps you will note some of the art on
the wall - behind the bed is the "dancers" which also appears
above in this gallery.
The cat sitting behind the woman is "DaDa", a three legged
cat who loves to sit on clean sheets.
In this second serigraph, entitled "Sonya" (after the cat),
a male figure is either writing or reading a love letter, much as the female
figure in the first serigraph. Again, there are a lot of interesting little
details, inlcuding the "dancers" once again in the background,
a romantic card on the nightstand, and a profliferation of cats. Do you
see that these two people have other things in common?
I hope you have enjoyed this first page in the gallery. If you have
questions or comments please contact me. The paintings and serigraphs are
for sale, and can easily be ordered.
