"WHAT! WHAT DO YOU MEAN DEAD!" the hysterical boy shouted. "Now Matt calm down. You knew this might happen. Gloomy's body just gave up. He couldn't handle the pain." "Why! Why my Gloomy?" "Something's we'll never know, Matt, you have to remember what he accomplished in life." We had a small funeral later that day, and Matt let all his Pokemon attend. Ash's Muk joined because he was a good friend of Gloomy. A Vaporeon wept openly and left roses on the grave, and a Marowak stood over the grave weeping. This was quite odd for a Marowak for they are usually quite hardhearted. After the funeral Matt stayed at my house for a few weeks, as he had slipped into a state of depression. There was nothing that would bring him out of it. Nothing that is until it happened. One day after checking on Matt, I was on my way to feed the Pokemon when Muk once again tackled me. "What is it now Muk!" I grumbled. "Muk Muuuk Muk!" "WHAT!" I could not believe what I had heard. I raced to the far corner of the refuge and there I found her, a young Gloom with her brood of eggs. As you know all Pokemon come from eggs. I talked with the young mother, and she informed me that her mate had recently died. "Could it be?" I thought. After questioning her for some time I realized these where Gloomy's children! I ran back to the house, and from there I (literally) dragged Matt to the nest. I told him who the father of the eggs was, and I had never seen someone so happy. He knew that a little of Gloomy had survived now. I even was able convince the mother to give up one of the eggs, which was very hard to do, and presented it to Matt. As he gently cradled the egg in his arms he asked, "How do I care for it?" Last I heard from Matt, the egg had hatched, and the baby Gloom is identical to Gloomy. Little Gloomish is growing more healthy and stronger everyday. Matt tells me that Gloomish has helped him win three new gym badges. But this time Matt is going to let his Pokemon get stronger before he tries to beat the league again. Well time to feed the Pokemon again, remember to care for your Pokemon and they'll care for you. -Professor Oak Penfreak
