~TALES TOLD IN THE DESERT~

The yarns told in the stories that I will be relating were gathered from the backyards and shanties lining the streets of adventure that one must travel to an understanding of the lore of the desert. They are not necessarily true, or even based on fact; but, like most lore and legend that make up the imaginative literature of the world, were picked and woven from fragments of happening of such remote origin that its place in history is lost.

If one should read all the myths and legends of all the peoples upon whose shoulders our civilization is built, he might achieve a picture of the hopes and desires, the happiness and the misery, of those who have gone before us; see them in their unguared moments, and through these stories see ourselves as we are.
