OVERNITE STAYS & WEATHER Travel/visit SUGGESTIONS for Crown King

Flying over Crown King The road from Cleator climbs from 4000 altitude up to the town site of Crown King at just under 6000 ft. Along the way, at Vista Point, the I17 Freeway & Mogollon Rim can be seen to the East.

We're up in COOL pine + oak forest country. That's the main reason to bring along extra clothing for warmth. The air is thinner and (as in true desert areas) when the sun goes down, it cools off p-r-e-t-t-y fast!

Lane Mountain and Towers Mountain (just up the road) peak at 7203 ft. and 7628 ft., respectively.

Observation Point (on the right side of the road to HorseThief Lake) presents a view of Lake Pleasant and the night lights of Phoenix.
