The Tips!!

In this section,u'll learn to take care of your yo-yo as well as learning how to play properly.. Here we go....

1.Waxing the string

For fixed axle wooden yo-yos..like pro-yos and technics, apply a small amount of wax to the last few inches of the string where it goes around the axle. This will enhance your sleep time.

2.The Sleepers-How to Make it Really SLEEP!!

The waxing part helped a bit..now,the technique!Learn to make an arc when you throw the sleeper. It is best if there is little or no impact or shock at the end of the throw the sleeper will be longer. Remember:It is not about the amount of strength(it only helps a bit)but it's the technique!Practice makes perfect.

3.A Thing About Transaxles

Transaxles are not like fixed axles.Apart from their speed,u can't call back a transaxle with a single-loop around the ball-bearing or transaxle.(unless it's a bumble-bee)Instead, u gotta make 3 or 4 loops for most of them. And remember to add some vaseline or lube on Yomegas or some other yo-yos. DO NOT PUT LUBRICANTS ON BUMBLE-BEES!I REPEAT,DO NOT PUT ANY LUBRICANTS ON BEES! It will only get into the way of brake pads and worse,it makes the ball-bearing rusts faster! Let the brake pads do the job..

4.Yo-Yo COMA

I describe this "phenomenon" for yo-yos which can't return from sleeps.I have two good reasons for this:TIGHTEN THE STRING or YOU'VE ADDED TOO MUCH VASELINE.

5.Skyrockets and Walk-The-Dogs

Keep in mind that these two tricks are very "destructive" and be sure u do not use your favourite yo-yos for this trick!!

6.Another thing about Wax

This is a problem many yo-yoers have.If you have added too much wax on your string for a wooden-axle yo-yo,it(the string)will not catch on to the axle-it slips! So you will get nowhere if you're trying to wind up your yo-yo using the quick-start method..

7.Loop-the-loops

Another common problem is that when you do loops-going downwards! If you're using a fixed-axle,the most common solution is to change your axle. The other solution is to cut your string(do not cut your string too much).
