About the band

adiohead are originally from oxford , UK.
    There are five members of the group :
  • Thom Yorke - Vocals/Guitar/Piano
  • Phil Selway - Drums
  • Ed Obrien - Polite Guitar/Keyboard
  • Johnny Greenwood - Abusive Guitar/Keyboards/Piano
  • Colin Greenwood - Bass Guitar

The band meet at Abingdon School where the band was originally called 'On a Friday'.The band had four members ,soon Colin's younger brother , Jonny joined the group, but later on the bands career was put to a halt as certain band members went off to start Univesities. During School vacations , 'On a Friday' performed live shows in the Summer of 1991.
Since then , the band was re-named to Radiohead and record deals were signed resulting in their first album 'Pablo Honey'. The first single released off this album was 'Creep' which is known really as the anthem of Radiohead.
In 1994, the band released and EP , 'My Iron Lung', which provided a taste of the next album 'The Bends'. In 1995 the album was released and the next tracks to be released were ' Fake Plastic Trees ' and 'High and Dry' which receieved significant airplay.
By this time the band was well known over the world , and had plenty of fans to support . They were offered heaps of opening acts for concerts such as R.E.M's American and European tours and also Alanis Morissette .
Radiohead started working on the material for their next album in early 1996 . They didnt quite work in the usual band studio , they used a fourteenth century manor house owned by actress Jane Seymour. The working title of the new album was 'Ones and Zeros' but was sooner changed before it was released to 'Ok Computer' in 1997. Colin Greenwood , in an interview , described the resulting sound as being like 'a stoned Radiohead'. First single released was 'Paraniod Andriod',6 and a 1/2 mins long , debuted at no.1.
Radiohead have been on tour , but are soon expecting a new album sometime soon, as they have been working on new material.
