A Gyarados is the easiest Pokemon to raise from it's original stage, yes you may think a magikarp is hard to raise because it only learns splash but your wrong. When you have a Magikarp put it as your first pokemon then go to Victory road and fight. When you start the battle just change to your best pokemon and defeat the enemy pokemon. Once you get your Magikarp to level 15 or 16 it will learn tackle. When you get your Magikarp into level 20 it will evolve and there you have it. You now have a Gyarados, one of the strongest Pokemon. Your Magikarp will grow from attack level 20 or whatever it was to around attack level 100. If you traded your Magikarp or do not have one use the old rod and fish anywhere.

A bulbasaur can only be found in the beging of the game so you have to choose it or you must trade with another person. A bulbasaur is pretty easy to raise but you must know what attacks to give it. I warn you though if you teach it an Hm attack the guy who will raise it won't raise it anymore. The bulbasaur is Very good against Rock pokemon if you use Vine Whip or Razor Leaf. Bulbasaur evolves into Ivysaur at level 16, and then into Venusaur at level 32. Bulbasaur will serve you well on your journey.
