Part1
The structure of the evaluation fells into two parts. The first is a self-evaluation in which details associated with both
Chinese and British policing are provided albeit the project is titled: Acting Insight for Chinese Police. Policing is unique
compared with other social research themes in the academic course. Consequently, very few similar models could be
found and followed as examples. A large amount of sources need to be translated from Chinese into English, which has
been a challenge not only to the proficiency of my English, but also to the best use and allocation of time and energy.
However, these challenges have also served as the motivations for much initiative and ingenuities, and provided me with
the edges of exploring bilingual sources and broader perspectives, which could not have been possible otherwise.
The fieldwork, covering the history of police, system and structure, the culture, the education, and Chinese CIVPOL, is
worth further study for students, researchers, and professionals. In addition, the subject has a natural link with politics, which
may provide an interesting and specific aspect of Chinese politics.
This project mainly reflects the positive aspects of Chinese Policing. Areas such as police discrimination, corruption,
and abuse of public power are beyond the author¡¯s experiences, knowledge, and comprehensive appreciation, and are to
be studied in the future.
With regard to reflecting the element of Real-Time in media course, the website will be updated regularly to keep
abreast of what is going on in the ever-changing policing. It should be noticed that the contact section is linked to a
weblog, which makes it possible to maintain the interactive flows and activities in real time. Therefore, what is presented is
not only a static online exhibition stage but also a dynamic platform for academic and practical exchanges and discourse.
