Connie B. starts the inspiration
for this piece by asking
if I can paint a portion of a stained glass window. She explains that
Fr. Jim wants that design.
That a painting would be nice, and Fr. Jim says you're a painter.
I agree to try, and felt up to the challenge of painting in soft washes
and multiple glazes.
As I paint the glass and the light, and I feel that there is something
missing, something that the light should be
shining upon, then I remember hearing that Pope John Paul 2 called
this the Year of the Eucharist, and I knew what belonged. Connie was
so pleased that the Parish had an alter cloth made from the original.
I was so honoured.
