Painting #50

"Michael's Swing"

"Michael's Swing" was completed on January 30, 2005 and is 9" x 12" in size. The name of the painting comes from an e-mail conversation with Michael Albert, who owns the painting "Apples and Ivy." In that conversation, as we discussed simplicity in art, Michael described the swing theme as one that he's always imagined as being a good example of simplicity and of things that are being lost in our society. The idea lived in the recesses of my mind for six months until it came out on canvas. The painting is in the collection of Julie Chee of Cheshire, Massachusetts.
