Painting #100:

"A Serene Place"

The style of this painting is one that I have thought about for some years now. I have always liked the later paintings of George Inness because of the mood he captured on canvas. At a recent show, a fellow exhibitor, James McGrath, seemed to capture that dark, moody feeling and it inspired me to try moving in that direction. "A Serene Place" was also painted as an entry for the upcoming exhibition, "Place" in Pittsfield. The painting is a 14" x 11" canvas and with frame, is for sale for $900.00.
