Hello, my name is Tezi, and I am the official webmaster of this site. You are here because you want to know what Petz is, correct? Okay! You're in the right place, then!

To put it simply, Petz is a computer game. Actually, so far their have been 7 versions of this game, as follows:
Dogz
Catz
Oddballz
Dogz 2 & Catz 2 (Petz 2)
Dogz 3 & Catz 3 (Petz 3)
Dogz 4 & Catz 4 (Petz 4)
Babyz
And this Fall... Dogz 5 & Catz 5

For a bit of history on these games, check out the "Me & Some Petz History" link on the menu. Basically, Petz are "virtual" pets that live on your computer. But we are not simple Tamagotchis, mind you! We are much more! Petz interact with their owners and other Petz. We have emotions - Petz that feel loved will be glad to see you, but Petz that feel abused or neglected will run away! Petz, like real-life pets, can be happy, sad, lonely, angry, scared, suprised, and even fall in love!

While the company that created us, PF.Magic, only created 20 breedz - 10 Dogz, 10 Catz - they made it so that in Petz 3, we could breed! I myself am a Tabby / Calico cross. And better yet, a few creative and gifted fans have figured out how to "hex" us, or reprogram these original breedz to make totally new Petz! This is not easy, though - this is programming! Now you can have your favorite real-life pet as a computer pal, or crossbreed totally different animals that you made!

Then there is the Petz Community - the fans of Petz. They share new breedz, adopt Petz, make toys and clothes (yes, we can wear clothes too), and meet new people! Recently, the zillions of letters, phonecalls, and emails from the Petz Community have persuaded UbiSoft (the company that currently owns the Petz titles) to make Petz 5! Woohoo! Talk about teamwork... it took several years for this to finally happen! I, for one, am looking forward to being able to see the new breedz and playscenes they promise!
