MY MUM

My mum's behaviour is like a zealous bonfire
crackling under the stars
beginning to get snappy, it wants more logs placed upon it;
more attention;
it cannot choose between a diminutive spark
or a raging inferno.
Her looks are like a Greek Goddess
fresh-faced and gorgeous
with sparkling blue eyes and hair covered in a red pigmentation,
but can sometimes look weary after a strenuous day.
She's a pernickety eater, but loves vegetables
and devilish cream cakes.
When going out she renovates her face and
looks captivatingly young.
With harmonious tastes and acceptable fondness in wrestling
she is quietly contented.
But: her most treasured preferences are my sister,
and ME!
