When my son wrote this poem he was given the words half of a moon and had to come up with a poem within a lesson

The Half of a Moon

The half of the moon,

looks like a rugby ball,

about to go for a touch down.

The heavy men,

squashing it,

it pops,

with a great big

BANG!!!!

The sun appears with a big lumpy smile,

trying to squash out the moon,

it can't.

Its a soft piano, playing sweet music,

around the moon,

A baby is listening to it,

half awake,

half asleep.

I see a lovely silver moon,

coming out,

only at night.

She is the queen of the night.

I don't see her when the beautiful sun comes out.

Cockerel's are crowing

A new day is born.
