It was a very interesting slam. Two rounds where poets tried first to get the highest score they could and then came back during the second round and tried to get the lowest score possible.
The night was full of surprises as some poets thought they had done well during the first round and horrible during the second only to have it argued by the scored the judges were passing out. In the end

S.T.A.R.R. and The Transporter

came out on top with the highest scores in each round.

THE NEXT SLAM IS THE SLAM OFF!!!

ALL POETS THAT HAVE EVER MADE IT THROUGH THE 1ST ROUND OF A SLAM ARE GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE ON THE TEAM.

**IMPORTANT, IF YOU HAVE NOT EVER BEEN IN A SLAM AND MADE IT PAST ROUND 1, YOU CANNOT SLAM ON FRIDAY THE 21ST. (special exceptions will be considered)

***EVEN MORE IMPORTANT, IF YOU DO NOT ARRIVE AT 6:30PM TO CHECK IN FOR THE SLAM, YOU WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO COMPETE IN THE SLAM OFF!!!

****THE MOST IMPORTANT, WE ARE NOT PLAYING ABOUT THE 6:30PM TIME TO CHECK-IN! BE ON TIME, OR DON'T EXPECT A SPOT ON THE TEAM!

The Southern Fried Regional Poetry Slam is June 8-10 in Birmingham, AL. If you want to help the team financially, please contact the slammaster Rhea Scruggs at 865-406-1616.
