April 21, 2006 - Knoxville SLAM OFF!!!

It's that time of year again.... Knoxville Poetry Slam is picking their National Team. The best of the best came out to perform for the chance to be a part of history in the making. Knoxville has not sent a team to Nationals in almost 6 years. There have always been problems with when we had our official slam off, but this year, it is set in stone and the team is going to Austin, TX for Nationals and also competing in Birmingham, AL for Regionals. All the poets came out with their strongest stuff. Rules were enforced and some people lost points for rules that were not known prior to this night. However, when the dust settled, it left four strong poets. And a team that is destined to change the world of SLAM.

Make sure that you support this team! We will be doing fundraising activities all throughout the summer. Tell everyone you know to come out and enjoy the slam. It's only $5 and they will have the time of their lives enjoying the word, drinks, and good food!
