Graphic Artist and Computer Operator• Created advertisements for various newspapers, based on written and verbal instructions supplied by sales staff and customers
• Interacted directly with the sales staff as well as customers throughout the creation of each ad to ensure quality and customer satisfaction
• Customers included major local enterprises such as Davidson Chrysler, ReMax, Nasir Foods, and numerous others
• Designed advertising spec ads from raw copy to final product, and solved copy fitting and colour coordination problems
• Supplied proofs and performed detailed corrections
• Checked ads against the final newspaper pages to ensure they were error free before sending them to the printer
• Learned how to manipulate graphic arts related software and equipment including QuarkXpress, basic Adobe Photoshop, Mac O/S, scanners and photocopiers
• Provided input as a member of a 3-person team designing, creating, and finalizing a yearbook for a Montessori School
