A rock crawler that a friend of ours owns. He's been wanting to make it look better for a long time, but it breaks his heart when it gets bashed against the rocks. He had the whole thing sprayed with truck-bed liner. But even that got torn-up and fell off.

At first he let us do some free hand flames over the top of the lined hood. Uncleared, they held up well for about a year.

But over that year we've been convincing him that painting it wouldn't be that hard or expensive. What I've done is set ourselves a budget and built him removeable panels out of sheet metal so that each one can be removed before hitting the rocks, or at the very least replaced individually as they are destroyed.

Only the edges need to be painted on the tub, which went quickly. I kinda slacked on the pictures, so you don't get to see the panels until they are on the jeep. I was delighted that we were able to cut and form them in about a day.

The immortal "Jeep" emblem that goes on the side.

The contributing sponsors' logos on the hood.

Here's the paint room with all the panels laid out and ready to be cleared tomorrow, I'm too tired to clear today.

As the jeep gets put back together, I'll get more pictures of the side panels. The whole project will have about a week involved. We had a new grill shell and hood, it all went really slick. We've been doing a bunch of Jeeps, and I recommend

And here we are, on the trailer headed to Moab for a fun filled weekend. Luckily, it came back virtually unscathed.
