Adding text, spreadsheet, or paint frames

Type text

Select the text tool A
Click once in document
Choose from Font, Size and Style menus
Type your text

Change the appearance of text in a text frame

Select the text frame
Choose Font, Style, Size, Text Color, Alignment or Spacing commands in Format menu
Choose from pop-up menus

Add a spreadsheet frame

Select the spreadsheet tool
Drag in the document to create a spreadsheet frame

Paint

Select the paint tool
Drag in the document to create a paint frame
Pencil, paint tools and paint menus are available

Painting basics
Drawings are made of objects that can be selected, moved, or changed while retaining their individual identity. Paintings are made of many separate pixels. Shapes drawn in painting lose their individual identity and become part of the collection of pixels.

Create a blank paint document

Choose New from the File menu
Select Painting
Click OK

Create a paint frame within another type of document

Select the paint tool (paintbrush)
(Choose Show tools from the Window menu if necessary)
Move the pointer into the working area of the document
Draw the paint frame

To resize a paint frame

Select the frame
Drag a handle

To open a frame and see more of the painting

Select the frame
Choose Open Frame from the Window menu
When you open the frame, you see the painting in a new window
Changes will be made in the original document
Save As
before closing from the File menu

To change the width and height of the painting

Select the frame
Choose Open Frame from the Window menu
It is in a new Window
Choose Document from the Format menu
Type in new size values
Close from the File menu

To close an open frame

Choose Close from the File menu

To display a different part of the painting in the frame

Select the frame
Choose Frame Info from the Edit menu
Type values in the Origin box
Click OK
