Choose the Options menu

Or Hide Graphics Grid

Show or hide ruler

Choose the Window menu

Show Rulers

Or Hide Rulers

Set ruler type divisions and units

Choose the Format menu

Click Rulers

Choose options and click OK

Move objects freely without being constrained to grid

Choose from the Options menu

Click Turn Autogrid Off

Turn on "snap" to the grid

Choose the Options menu

Click Turn Autogrid On

 

Moving objects

Moving object or frame

Select the object

Hold down the mouse button and drag from center

Moving an object in small increments

Select the object

Press arrow keys

Move an object by specifying location

Select the object

Choose Object Size from Options menu

Type values in top boxes and press Enter

Duplicating, copying and deleting objects

Duplicating an object

Select the object

Choose Duplicate from the Edit menu

Spacing duplicates evenly

Select the object

After duplicating move immediately to new position the next duplicate will appear at same distance from last copy

Copy an object and past it elsewhere

Select the object

Choose Copy from Edit menu

Click where you want copy to go

Choose Paste from Edit menu

Delete and object permanently

Select the object

Press backspace

Delete an object and store it on the Clipboard

Select the object

Choose Cut from the Edit menu. It will stay on clipboard until you copy something else
