Spin a Web That Others Will Want Use
Inserting Images and Using Colors on Your Web Page
#1 Insert an Image
Click on the image button (geometric shapes).
Or choose Image from the Insert menu.
Note: Your image must be a gif or a jpg file. These are available
as Web based click art or may be made in a graphics program that can change
an image to a gif or jpg (Adobe Photo Shop will do this and is available
for student use in the Library). To download an image, click on the image with
your right mouse button and hold down. Choose Save Image As from the dialog
box and save it in your name folder. Do not change the image name.

Choose Alignment to place the image Right, Left or
Center on your page.
Close the dialog box. Your image should appear.
#2 Changing the Color of Your Text
Highlight your text if you want a new text color (you can emphasis
a portion of your text in a different color).
Choose the text color button.
Click on your color choice.
Close the color box.
#3 Setting the Color of Your Web Page
You can change the color or use an image as a tiled pattern for the
background of your Web page. When you use an image, it over rides the color
setting.
Choose Document Options from the Edit menu. The Document
Options dialog box will appear.
Choose Basic from the pop-up menu or click the Basic
tab.
Click the Background color box. The color dialog box will appear.
Select the color you want to use as the new background for your Web
page.
Click ok to close the Color dialog box.
Click ok to close the document Options dialog box.
The background color of your Web page should change.
#4 Setting the Background of Your Web Page
To use an image as a tiled background for your Web page.
Choose Document Options from the Edit menu.
Choose Basic from the pop-up menu or click the Basic tab.
Click Set, an open dialog box will appear.
Select the image file you want to use.
Note: You can make your own background image or find a background
that you like from the web. Click on the image with your right mouse button
and hold down, choose Save Image As from the dialog box and save it in
your name folder. Do not change the name.

Remember, be very careful with your use of backgrounds so they are not
distractive. Below are two different treatments of backgrounds.

Click Open (the path of the image file and a thumbnail representation
of the image appear in the Document Options dialog box).
Click ok to close the Document Options dialog box.
