Antique Satsuma Mille Fleur Vase w/ Birds & Lots Gold Meiji Era

An absolutely sumptuous Meiji Period Satsuma vase in a mille fleurs thousand flower design. Tons of gold all over, and a big flock of green birds hiding amidst the luxuriant foliage & blossoms. Some of the blossoms standing out in relief as you can see from the detail pictures. And look at the waterfall and the little temple or pavilion. The surface is entirely covered by the very fine and meticulous brush work. Maker's mark on the bottom, Maizan. This is probably inspired by a cherry blossom season near the falls of Nikko Temple.

Vase is 12" high, no chips hairlines or cracks. No repairs. As you can see, gold and enamel pretty much all there. Normal age crackling pattern on the glaze as shown.

This vase is an idyllic world all on its own! Don't miss this wonderful 19th century period satsuma vase
