Hunger Spider

He won’t give up so easily. Once he got a taste, he had to have more. He wanted all of both of them. The boy for his body and the girl for her life energy. Josuke had them before. He will do anything to have them again.

But there is a problem. Something’s different. This will not do.

Josuke waved his hand in the air. Black wisps formed at his fingertips. The small crackles made his skin tingle. Good, the link was still there. Only one problem there.

Oh? She’s looking at him. Wait… Can she see him? Josuke didn’t move. His prey knew. Well now, this made things interesting.

“What to do with you?”

Kana can’t ignore him. How long before he came back? She didn’t want to think about that.

Is it him?

The nymph froze. “Yes…” No. She hoped that he wouldn’t sense him. Kana had to do something fast.

Can you feel him too?

No.

Kana breathed in relief. Oh good.

“Hello.”

The nymph’s body went stiff. Cold glowing eyes stayed fixed on her. Kana began to hyperventilate.

“Aw, what’s wrong? I’m not going to hurt you. I just want to talk.”

Kana slowly shook her head. She screamed in her mind.

Josuke laughed to himself. So she could see him. Something about Kana’s fear aroused him. He had to see more of it. Sadly, Leo couldn’t sense him yet. Josuke had a guess as to why.

“Why are you hiding my boy?”

Kana didn’t speak or move. She tried to look away. He towered over her now.

“Come on. Let me see him. I want to talk to him.”

She shook her head. He reached out to touch her shoulder. It was like thick air blocked his hand. Josuke paused. Still can’t touch her, huh? That would have to wait.

“Hm?”

“I will not let you have him.”

Josuke raised his eyebrow. “Is that so?”

There was a new look in her eyes. Was that…  contempt he saw? Josuke let out a low whistle.

“Well, now. This should be interesting. As much as I would love to toy with you, I  have to go.” He winked and blew a kiss.

“See you soon.” Then it all went silent.

Kana sank to her knees. She was in serious trouble. She and Leo were going to need more than just Kagome for this. Time to call in higher powers.
