General Information


Lifespan
Originals can die, but if not killed, they can live eternally. But as generations go by, mortality will start to surface.
2nd and up male lifespan: 10 - 15 thousand years.
2nd and up generation female lifespan: 15-20 thousand years.
Naturally, the females will live longer.

Maternity
To all echidnataurs, the females are fertile until they reach around 5,000 years of age. The males are fertile until they die.

Fertility
Female Echidnataurs become fertile around 18 years of age. The males become fertile at about 16 years of age. For females who carry their offspring for the very first time, the pregnancy lasts only 3-4 months. After that, the pregnancy last for up to a year. When their maternity season comes up, they give off certain smells that only male echidnataurs can sense. Then there will be times where males will battle for their pic of the "in heat" female. When males battle to win the female, they face off in hand to hand combat with no weapons or magic. And for those who use weapons or magic, those are immediately disqualified. Males that are competing are also not allowed to kill their opponents. The one who wins, gets the female. When the male wins, the female will walk up to her victor and show her affection to him, to show that he won, it's only right to claim his prize. Then the new mates will leave for up to three days during the rest of her maturnity season. Each female has her own maternity season time, that way all the males won't go crazy to see who gets who.

Mating Habits
Usually, when one mates, they mate for life, but it's not uncommon, nor is it wrong, for a male or female, to have a back-up mate. If one is to be injured in a fight, or somehow has become sterile, to carry on the tribe.

Development
when Echidnataurs are born they learn to walk with in the hour and they mature at a fast rate. for example, If an Echidnataur is 1 year old the physical features are that of a 5 year old and so on and so forth, this cycle slows way down when the Echidnataurs reach about 16 years of age.they start to show their age when they reach about 8,000 years old. thats when they Techincally speaking, turn grey.

Leadership
There are no competitions to see who becomes leader. It's only availible for the leader's first born offspring to take on after their mother/ father. Or if the leader happens to die before having offspring, the second in cammand becomes leader. (The only competition that would ever occure normally would be male versus male, to win rights to their female.)

Powers
It's takes a certain amount of time for one to fully learn the magic tecniques of their power, usually, they learn power from spell books, but there are some who are born with the power, though none of the original Echidnataurs have natural born powers. They all had to learn theirs. All the Echidnataurs have to ability to morph into normal Echidnas, but nothing more.

Physical Attributes
All Echidnataurs can run very fast. Female echidnataurs are atleast 10 - 15 times stronger than the normal furry/ overlander. Males are 20 - 25 times stronger than normal furries/ overlanders. When they morph in to normal echidnas, their strength decreases to that of anormal echidna. Male echidnataurs have a maximum height of 8 ft but no more, and a minimum of about 7'9
Females have a maximum height of about 6'4, and a minimum height about 5'11.

Intelligence
They are smart enough to survive in the wild, and know when to back off, thought they are techinically illiterate. (except for Janne-Li, who will teach the others in time.) Echidnataurs learn fast. They are also openminded to new ideas. They also know how to use weapons.

Others
The small Echidnataur tribe sticks together, and fights for each other. And if one member happens to become injured, the others will defend them, and together will destroy the enemy.
Echidnataurs live simple lives. They live inside the castle that belonged to the mage. The original Echidnaturs have learned enough about their surroundings for in case they are indanger of being wiped out, they know all the hiding places to get away from the danger, or to ambush theire enemies. Usually, all the Echidnataurs are friendly, but they are never naive. If they sense danger, in someone or someplace, they immediatly turn well aware and don't let their guard down for a minute.
