We just had a summer dust storm blow through, so I grabbed these pictures off of a local tv weather channel to show you. Out in the desert, the wind kicks up, gathering dust and momentum as it goes and comes over the city of Phoenix like a wall of dust. If you are out in it, you have to take cover or get crusted in dust and it stings! If you're in your car, you usually have to slow to a halt and wait until you can see again to drive. And if the rain comes behind the dust, it makes a muddy mess on your car! Thankfully, dust storms only last about 10-15 minutes as they pass through.
During the last one we had, our neighbor told us he found our table umbrella in his pool. He tossed it back over the fence for us though......and so goes life in the desert.
