This was the final pencil stage. A lot of detail has been added at this point. The clothes got their final feel (although notice later on I change them as I ink, shortening the laces in the pants for example).
Shadows were indicated with pencil-marks so I wouldn't forget to darken certain areas later on as I inked and colored.
The inking is finished here, except for erasing the pencil marks. I haven't added a *lot* of shading techniques, as I'm planning on coloring it and will use the color to show shadows and depth.
One thing to notice is the use of 'line weights' in the picture - making the lines thicker on the point away from the light source. This helps suggest depth and shadow in the pic.
The coloring begins! I'm using PhotoShop 5 to color it. I'm not very good at it, I admit...but then again, that's why I'm practicing with it! I'll never get good at it if I refuse to try and learn.
Even the best of us (which I am not :D ) should never pass up the chance to try and learn something new.
