The Pencils take shape

Now some work came before the first picture you see here. I decided on what I would want to draw, and how I would like it to *be* drawn.
The desicion of what to draw wasn't hard - this is a picture of a Gnome Necromancer from an Online game I play. So I knew what I wanted basicly.

The first picture rough. Here, I've barely sketched out her pose. At this point, I wasn't even sure what detail I'd put into her yet.
I decided I wanted her leaning against some sort of pillar, and to be in a playful kind of mood at this point.

Detail is now being added. I've decided what I wanted the pillar to vaugely look like, and began adding in her clothing. Hair and face were sketched in as well, giving her more expression.
Watch the ears as the pictures progress. I kept changing the position of the one on the right - showing that a picture constantly develops until the final inks are set. Don't feel that just because you've penciled it in it's set in stone!

Lots of detail is added here, mostly to her clothing and accesories. She's a naugty girl (most necromancers are, after all!) so her choice of clothing is being modeled to reflect this.
Something to note is the face - look at 2 and 3. See how her whole face expression is changed by adding the eyebrows and eyelids in a certain way. It changed from a purely playful look to one of almost 'amused contempt' for the viewer. Little touches like that can have a dramatic impact on how your viewer sees the final product.
