In order to save oil paint after a day’s work, there are two methods:
· Cover the palette in cling film: this will keep paint fresh for several days as it expels the air from the paint;
• Submerge the palette in a tray a couple of inches deep and slightly bigger than the palette. Put a weight onto the palette and pour cold water on top. The next morning, lift the palette out and drain, blot off any excess water with kitchen roll and the paint is perfect.
