With my new Oly E10                                                                                                  HI

My name is Arthur Small. I am retired. In fact I have retired twice. First from the USAF Medical Service Corps and second from Albany Medical College.

Having spent 30 years on active duty in the military, I though that was enough. I went to work at the College of Medicine at Ohio State University as administrator of the department of surgery. We resided in Worthington OH just out side of Columbus and after seven years I was offered a similar position at Albany Medical College. Well it was about time for a move, so we did. As the years rolled by I decided that I had enough of the health care field and retired for the second time.

Since this retirement I have been active in community affairs as a member of my condominiums board of managers, spend a great deal of time on the computer, enjoy reading, the theatre, and traveling. In an effort to keep the gray cells active I have been teaching on a part time basis computer applications to adults .

In 1988 the New York Guard, a state militia, wanted to start an Air Division and called on some of old AF retirees to get things off the ground. I have been active in the New York Guard Air Division as Chief of Staff  and continue to remain active as long as I can.

Photography has always been a hobby of mine. When in Hong Kong several years ago I came across a digital still camera. It was a device I just HAD to have. Little did I know that in four short months the same camera would be available in the US for about half the cost. Well that's the price you pay for being the first kid on the block with a new toy.

I have had six digital still cameras, Casio, Canon,  Obsidian, two Kodaks and now a Oly E-10. I have also added a digital video camera to my collection in 1999, a Sony TRV 10 replacing my JVC DVM1.

I have  given up on 35MM photography, Some day may be the resolution of the digital image will be as good as silver film,

I did take the plunge on a trip to China & Tibet taking with me only my Kodak 265 and the Sony TRV10, with out a 35MM back up. It looks like this digital may work after all.

Here is my chance to show off some of my photographs, some traditional 35MM, some digital stills, and some from digital video.
